Gemotions

Sarah hummed softly as she walked into the bakery. The aroma of cinnamon and sugar was a comforting embrace. She knew her usual order—a warm croissant and a strong coffee. She was feeling exceptionally buoyant this morning. The presentation she’d been working on had been a success and she felt a sense of accomplishment she hadn't felt in a long time. She looked forward to seeking her mentor, Mr. Henderson's, opinion on her presentation.

She waved to Mrs. Gable, the baker, and moved toward her favorite corner table, overlooking the bustling street. She noticed that Mr. Henderson wasn't around. She thought he must be in the back. As she waited, she took out her phone to call him, but instead she found a note. It was a note, taped to the bakery door, handwritten and to the point.
